Storytime: Read with your Kids over Video Chat App Reviews

I love the Kindoma story time app. This app has help me fill a very important void as a working parent. I read the book together with my 7 yr old son and read him his night time story when I am away from home. I use it on my iPhone 5 and my son is on an iPad at home and both work flawlessly. Both of us can call each other when the app is open and get in a very intimate book reading experience even though i am 1000 miles away. Than you Kindoma developers for coming up with this amazing product.

Amazing! Just read to our 7 month old grandson. He loved watching our faces & he clapped along as we each read him a story, pointing to words we could both see on our screens. We sang, clapped, pat-a-caked, & kissed goodnight! Best app ever!

It is a useless app. Without purchasing the books you cannot use it. Too expensive and too vague! I deleted it after using it for few mins.

What a wonderful way to interact with my 3 year-old grandson from 3000 miles away. The pointing finger is a most special feature and allows me to direct his attention to something on the page and vice versa. I can point to an illustration and ask my grandson what is happening in the picture. It feels as if he was sitting right beside me. The variety of books available to read is great! We will never get bored with the selection.

Kindoma Storytime is awesome! I downloaded it while I was traveling so I could read to my daughter, and I couldnt be happier--it was the most engaged Ive ever seen her on a video call, much more so than Skype. I bought the subscription already and I plan to use this app every time I travel. An absolute must have for frequently traveling parents or remote grandparents. Love it!

I travel a ton for work and always looking for ways to connect with my daughter while Im gone. Phone calls bore her and FaceTime only lasts a couple of minutes. Storytime is an awesome app that captures her attention which means I get to spend more time with her. Storytime allows me to read with my daughter and see her little face. Since she is learning to read, she can follow along the text as I read and we often take turns reading to one another. I highly recommend this app to any traveling parents or grandparents.

This app gets a 5 star rating for what it is in concept --- It has really helped me stay in touch with my little boy in a meaningful way that HE can appreciate while Im on the road as an opera singer. We have been waiting for Kindoma to expand the library, as there were only a couple of books worth reading in the first version. The new version improves video and audio noticeably, which is a great upgrade. That said… They have moved to a system that doesnt pre-download all books for you, and it doesnt really work smoothly if both parties havent pre-downloaded the books youre going to want to read ahead of time. Its easy to see why this is the right technical direction… especially as the library grows.. but its buggy… and tough to hold the attention of a 3-year-old while youre figuring it out. For example… you just wait while it says "loading" if youre adding a book… but there are no progress bars. Also… pressing the "add book" button doesnt always give you any indication that it actually did something. So… it needs some refinement and a whole lot more TESTING. Most important to me is the content. Again… were blown away by the concept of this app… and use it A LOT when Im traveling. But many of the books are garbage… poorly written (bad grammar, you name it)… and it really feels like this app has been sponsored by the Christian Church and/or the Republican Party. Most of the titles are about either some religious theme/story, or have a very nationalistic overtone that would be fine if the library were more balanced with other perspectives. We pretty much stick to Peter Rabbit! In summary… GREAT APP in concept… POOR CONTENT… and STILL BUGGY.

I love using this with my far away granddaughters. It would be almost perfect if our two devices, each with 100% strong signals didnt disconnect so often. Advice welcome if a way to avoid disconnects.

Im her daddys house keeper she told me one of my friends stop by and she said that she wish that I could babysit for her and she didnt like daycare I will tell mommy to bring you and your brother I would do it for free she said no grandma my mommy said shes does like grandma and the sheriff ....... I ask my son about this my He said mom she cant distinguish a mailman from a sheriff Im so worry I told my grand baby if she felt she was in harms way someone is going to hurt for her to call 911 and tell them that she wanted to go with me daddy mommy

I just finished my second Kindoma call with my 4 year old granddaughter. We live 6000 miles apart. Skype calls no longer hold her interest for more than a few minutes. With Kindoma she is fully engaged with reading and listening to the stories...and, so far, each one ends with an excited "Read me another story Baba!". We love the pointing feature. Please get more books! I can see we will need them!

This app was such a blessing to our family when I was hospitalized quite a ways from our home and kids. I was still able to read them stories at night remotely with video chat above the book pages. They are ages 3 and 5 so the book selection was very good for their ages. Thank you for creating this app!

Whenever I send an invite, it crashes, rendering the app useless. Same problem from 2 devices.

My family loves this app! We use it to connect the kids with their grandparents 3 time zones away. Grandma is the best reader, and the kids are engaged while I can relax with a glass of wine ;-)

This app is so great! I love being able to read to my kids.

This app is terrible! It wouldnt allow me to even use it. I went to place a video call and it just closes out. Really bummed! Would have been great for my son and his family :(

Recent update wiped out my purchased books. I logged out and logged back in, but then it forgot my profile picture, my connected family, and all the free books I had in my library. THERES NO WAY TO CONTACT THIS COMPANY. Not even on their website.
